Au lait
Combining two of my favourite things...braiding & coffee. This piece is an exploration of the juxtaposition between minimalist composition, and luxurious bohemian aesthetic. Marrying the two in this ode to decadent minimalism, "Au lait" was made using over half a kilometre of 100% pure cotton, 5mm macramé rope, hand dyed with real coffee, creating the beautiful gradient tones throughout, while the scent of which still lovingly clings to the piece. This is offset by a framework of flowing, horizontal braids, and unpretentious fringe, comprised of 400-450 metres of 3mm natural macramé rope and over 200 hand painted wooden beads.
Measuring approx. 155cm across by 100cm long, Au lait will become the warm, beating heart of your sacred space.
